Pastor Doug is the founding Minister of Christ Reformed Baptist Church. He has served the Churches of Jesus Christ within Indiana through various capacities over the last 21 years following his conversion in 2001 at his home church the Bible Study Chapel - Indpls., IN. Practical ministry experiences have included: Associate Pastor/Bible Teacher, Church Treasurer, Director of Men’s Ministry.
By God's providence, Pastor Doug was saved under the ministry of the Bible Study Chapel. He was brought to repentance and salvation solely by the saving grace of God through his Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Doug was ordained as a Baptist Minister in 2006 under the authority of his home church, Bible Study Chapel of Indpls, IN, where he was blessed to serve as Associate Pastor alongside Pastor Cleve Morton. Doug ministered by teaching and preaching with regular involvement in church leadership. In 2010, Doug and his family moved to Knightstown, located in Henry County, IN. In 2015 with the endorsement and oversight of the Bible Study Chapel, Doug aided in the organizing and constituting of Christ Reformed Baptist Church of New Castle, IN, where he currently serves.
Pastor Doug is a bi-vocational pastor who witnesses for Jesus in the local commercial construction industry. He holds a B.A. in Design Marketing; International Business College; AS in Design Technology and a Certificate in Business Administration; Ivy Tech University. He has received training through London Reformed Baptist Seminary in addition to various online courses from Reformed Baptist seminaries in his pursuit to be as useful as possible to the church of Jesus Christ.
He is the founder of Particular Baptist Heritage Books where he serves as General Editor alongside an advisory board consisting of other Pastors.
Doug is happily married to his wife Jessica. Married since 2001, they are blessed with three children who profess Christ as Lord and one grandchild. The Barger family are currently residents of Henry County, were they serve. They pray that the glory of God through Jesus Christ will be made known throughout this region where the Lord has placed them.
